Terms of Service

By using SteadyWith, you agree to these terms. We've written them to be clear and honest — especially about what SteadyWith is and isn't during this beta period.

⚠️ Closed Beta — Invite Only

SteadyWith is currently available by invitation only. This is beta software — it may have bugs, experience downtime, or change significantly. We're grateful you're here and we appreciate your patience as we build toward a full launch.

1. What SteadyWith Is (and Isn't)

SteadyWith is an organizational tool for adult children and family caregivers to manage health documents, build a health timeline, and coordinate care for an aging parent or loved one.

SteadyWith is NOT:

  • A medical device
  • A source of medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
  • An emergency monitoring service — call 911 in any emergency
  • A replacement for professional healthcare providers
  • HIPAA-compliant (during closed beta)

AI-generated summaries are for organizational convenience only. Always verify information against original documents and consult your healthcare provider for medical decisions.

2. Your Responsibilities

By using SteadyWith, you confirm that:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You have authorization to upload and manage the health information you're entering — this typically means you have your parent's consent, a healthcare proxy, or power of attorney
  • You will use the service lawfully and in good faith
  • You will keep your account credentials confidential
  • You will not upload documents that belong to someone you do not have authority over
  • You understand this is beta software and will report issues to help us improve

3. Beta Limitations & Service Availability

During the closed beta period:

  • We provide no guarantee of uptime or availability
  • Features may change, be removed, or be temporarily unavailable
  • We may perform maintenance at any time, with or without advance notice
  • Your data may be migrated as we improve our infrastructure

4. Account Termination

You can cancel anytime via account settings. Your data will be retained for 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted per our Data Retention Policy.

We may suspend or terminate beta access if you violate these terms, or for any reason with reasonable advance notice via email. We'll always give you the opportunity to export your data before termination.

5. Your Data — You Own It

You retain ownership of all information you upload to SteadyWith. We don't claim any ownership over your documents, notes, or health data.

By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your data solely to provide the service to you. We do not use your data to train AI models.

6. Limitation of Liability

SteadyWith (and SteadyWith, the company) is not liable for:

  • Medical decisions made based on information in the app
  • Errors in AI-generated summaries
  • Data loss during the beta period (we back up data, but can't guarantee perfect recovery)
  • Service downtime or interruptions
  • Any harm arising from reliance on the service

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability. Your use of the service is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to $0 (given that beta access is free).

7. Intellectual Property

SteadyWith owns the platform, codebase, design, and trademarks. You own your data. Don't copy or reverse-engineer the service. Don't misrepresent your affiliation with SteadyWith.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll notify you by email before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of North Carolina.
